As it turns out my grand father (Archie) changed our last name from McCaskill to McCaskell.
All the census thus far have the last name spelled McCaskill.
They are all interchangeable, in fact I'll do a post one of these days on all the possible "Caskill" names and their meanings and history... but that is for another day.
